Accounts Manager Business Services – Sutton (with occasional travel to Teddington) Salary: £58,000 – £65,000
Permanent, Full-Time | Hybrid & Flexible Working Available

Our client, a Top 40 accountancy practice, is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager Business Services to join their Sutton team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a growing firm with a strong reputation across Central and Southern England.

As an Accounts Manager, you will oversee the accounts team, ensuring high standards of financial reporting and client service. You will also work closely with Partners to manage workflow, develop staff, and deliver high-quality outputs in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

About You

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • ACCA/ACA qualification with at least three years of post-qualified experience in a UK practice environment
  • Proven line management experience and the ability to mentor and develop a team
  • Strong financial reporting (UK GAAP) knowledge and experience in preparing statutory accounts
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client management skills
  • A team-oriented approach with the ability to produce high-quality work under pressure

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the accounts team, ensuring high performance and professional growth
  • Oversee the workflow and preparation of statutory accounts (FRS102, FRS102 1A, and FRS105)
  • Manage incoming accounts jobs, allocating resources efficiently to meet client deadlines
  • Identify and address resource gaps, making recommendations to ensure smooth workflow
  • Liaise with clients and senior team members to ensure effective planning and documentation
  • Review corporation tax computations and returns, ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Report directly to Partners, highlighting key findings and ensuring client expectations are met
