Audit Manager

This high profile firm of Chartered Accountants, urgently seek a Qualified ACA or ACCA Accountant to join their team in Surrey.

You will oversee a varied portfolio of clients and help to manage and develop the skills of a small and highly motivated team (ranging from Trainees to more experienced staff).

The Opportunity

The Firm seeks a highly competent Audit Manager who can work closely with Partners and manage a client portfolio that ranges from SME's to medium-sized complex groups.

You will have significant responsibility for the control of audits and ad-hoc project work, whilst providing a first-class service to a client base which includes renowned UK businesses and a range of international companies. .

The key features of the role include:

  • Provision of accountancy and commercial management support to clients
  • Manage the Audit process from the planning stage through to risk assessment and completion
  • Preparing financial statements that meet relevant statutory reporting requirements
  • Involvement in one-off work, such as due diligence, investigations and valuations
  • Striving for the continuous improvement of the processes
  • Mentoring junior staff
  • Involvement in proposals for new work and business development initiatives

Requirements

To be either ACA or ACCA Qualified and to have previous / current experience of working for another Accounting Firm, within audit is prerequisite.

You will also possess a combination of strong technical and supervisory skills and have previous exposure to managing a client portfolio The ability to work flexibly, and on one’s own initiative to deliver timely, quality outputs is essential.

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Varied statutory audit and accounts preparation experience
  • A strong and up-to-date knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102 & IFRS
  • Good communication and inter-personal skills
  • Ability to delegate to and supervise junior staff
  • Ability to work under pressure to a high standard

Good IT skills and receptive to technology changes.
