Fletcher George is working confidentially with a respected firm of Chartered Accountants in Guildford, Surrey, which is looking to appoint an Audit Senior into a role with an approximate 80% audit and 20% accounts split.

This opportunity will suit an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant, finalist or experienced Audit Senior who enjoys leading audit assignments, working closely with clients and building strong technical experience across a varied portfolio.

Rather than being a heavily mixed accounts and audit position, this role has been shaped for someone who wants audit to remain the central part of their career, while still retaining involvement in statutory accounts preparation.

The Role

As Audit Senior, you will be responsible for leading audit assignments from planning through to completion, with some involvement in accounts preparation.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading audit assignments for a varied portfolio of clients
• Planning audit work and preparing audit files
• Carrying out audit fieldwork both on site and remotely
• Supervising and supporting junior members of the team
• Reviewing audit work and ensuring files are completed accurately
• Preparing statutory accounts under UK GAAP and FRS 102
• Liaising directly with clients throughout the audit process
• Identifying technical points and discussing these with Managers and Partners
• Supporting wider accounts work where required

About You

This Audit Senior role will suit someone with recent audit experience gained within a UK accountancy practice.

You may be:

• ACA or ACCA qualified, finalist level or qualified by experience
• Currently working as an Audit Senior, Audit Semi-Senior, Audit & Accounts Senior, External Auditor or Audit Associate
• Experienced in leading or supporting external audit assignments
• Confident preparing audit files and statutory accounts
• Familiar with UK GAAP and FRS 102
• Able to communicate clearly with clients and colleagues
• Organised, accurate and comfortable working to deadlines
• Looking for a Guildford-based audit role with a clear audit bias
