Part Time Finance Assistant / Accounts Payable (4 days per week or circa 30 hours per week). Hybrid working!

Job Overview

They currently seek a Finance Assistant to join a close-knit Finance team on a Part Time / Reduced Hours basis. Ideally you will be available for circa 30 hours per week or 4 days - our client has flexibility as to how those hours are worked. The role will focus on processing the groups Accounts Payable transactions, reconciling monthly supplier statements, suggesting and actioning supplier payments and building a productive relationship with their counterparts across our supply base.

It is an exciting time to join as the company is investing in invoice recognition software in the anticipation this will reduce the level of manual entry required in the role freeing up time to support elsewhere in the department.

The ideal candidate would be confident in an Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger role with the ability to work independently, although full training will be provided. You will be excited at the prospect of taking ownership of the function and being involved in the setup of new processes. Experience with Sage 200 would be beneficial but not essential.

Skills and Requirements

  • AAT studier or equivalent, or QBE
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately with colleagues at all levels
  • Ability to use Excel to an intermediate level (V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, basic data manipulation and report creation)
  • Ability to recommend improved ways of working 
  • Deadline oriented with ability to work unsupervised and recommend ways to improve on deadlines
  • Attention to detail, be extremely organised and work well with others
