The Opportunity
As Senior Audit Director / RI Designate, you will work closely with the Audit Partner and senior leadership team to shape and elevate the audit function. This role combines strategic influence with hands-on leadership, giving you real autonomy and visibility across the firm.
You will lead complex, high-quality audits, guide a talented team, and build deep relationships with a prestigious portfolio including OMBs, SMEs, international groups, and fast-growing businesses.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Audit Director
- Lead and review audits from planning to completion, ensuring technical excellence and timely delivery
- Review statutory accounts and provide constructive guidance to the team
- Mentor, coach, and develop audit staff, driving quality and confidence
- Oversee workflow, resourcing, and departmental performance
- Build strong, long-term client relationships; identify opportunities to add value
- Deliver CPD training and stay ahead of regulatory and technical developments
- Begin developing your own portfolio with full Partner-level guidance
About You
- ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Significant experience leading audits within a UK accountancy practice
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
- Confident operating at board level with excellent communication skills
- Proven leadership ability with a collaborative, empowering style
- Ambitious, credible, and committed to driving audit quality
- Working towards RI status (or ready to gain it with support)
