Fletcher George is delighted to be working with a modern and growing firm based in the SE1 area. Following a successful period of growth and continued investment in the firm the Partners are now looking to establish a dedicated tax department and appoint an experienced tax professional to lead the growth of the Tax offering.

This is far more than a traditional Senior Tax Manager role. You will have the opportunity to build and shape a dedicated tax offering and to have a genuine influence on how this part of the practice develops. Importantly, there is a clear route to partnership alongside the development of the team and the growth of the Tax compliance and advisory offering.

The Role

This is a broad and commercially focused tax position combining compliance work, advisory projects, business development and the opportunity to build a team. Your responsibilities will include:

Acting as the key tax specialist for the wider firm supporting colleagues on complex tax matters and bringing strong working knowledge across personal, partnership and corporate tax .
Advising business owners and growing companies on tax planning, business structuring, restructures, company sales and exits and succession planning
Working on a varied range of specialist advisory matters including R&D tax reliefs and wider tax planning opportunities
Dealing confidently with HMRC enquiries including on more complex matters
Advising small and medium-sized businesses on employee incentive and investment schemes
Building strong relationships with clients and becoming a trusted adviser to business owners

The commercial side of this appointment is central to its future potential. Working closely with the Partners you will be encouraged to lead from the outset. This will include:

Spotting tax opportunities within the existing client base
Attending networking and industry events to develop the firm's profile to gain referrals and recommendations

You will recruit and supervise new members of the tax team as well as shape the services offered and play an increasingly important role in the wider direction of the practice. For someone with the technical ability, commercial drive and ambition to create something of their own, this offers a particularly exciting route towards future partnership.

The firm is looking for a CTA-qualified tax professional with several years of post-qualification experience gained within a UK Practice, strong technical knowledge and the confidence to advise clients across a broad range of tax matters. Your commercial awareness and desire to network and also at the same time to develop strong client relationships will be very important for this role.
